I Have Been Thinking

I have been slowly working on a longish article about shame and its relationship to our sin, both in terms of justification and sanctification. The topic of shame is a near anathema to our present world.
But many godly people have understood the proper understanding of shame and its role in keeping us sensitive to sin, and to forgiveness.
“Shame is overcome only in the shaming through the forgiveness of sin, that is to say, through the restoration of fellowship with God and men.” Ethics by Dietrich Bonhoeffer.
Shame is the recognition that we are separated from our creator and yet desire to be restored to Him.
You can find the whole article at:
As I have spent time regularly working on this article, I came across a well known, to me, song by Steve Green that I thinks begins to encapsulate the desires of our hearts. May you be encouraged and courageous.
“Just the time I feel that I've been caught in the mire of self
Just the time I feel my mind's been bought by worldly wealth
That's when the breeze begins to blow, I know the Spirit's call
And all my worldly wanderings just melt into His love
Oh, I want to know You more
Deep within my soul, I want to know You. Oh, I want to know You. To feel Your heart and know Your mind. Looking in Your eyes stirs up within me
Cries that say, "I want to know You"
Oh, I want to know You more
When my daily deeds ordinarily lose life and song
My heart begins to bleed, sensitivity to Him is gone
I've run the race but set my own pace and face a shattered soul
Now, the gentle arms of Jesus warm my hunger to be whole….”
Ignore what precedes the song sung by Steve!!
Oh, I Want To Know You More
