London and Beyond
I believe our times overseas has given me an understanding heart for the foreigner. I lived as a foreigner and I understand the adjusting and hurdles, of the unfamiliar. My time with Cambodians in San Jose, Pakistani in Bangkok, the refugees from Nepal and Congolese in Columbia. Our BSF classes were filled with foreigners in London and Bangkok. God is mixing up our world. My inmate friends entered a foreign world after 14 or 32 years locked away. God tells us to care for the foreigner, the widow, the orphans. He uses all our experiences for a purpose. Our hurts allow an open place to go deeper with God. Suffering molds our character and weans us from dependency on people and pleasures that can never satisfy.
